I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve had these two dishes - an EMBARRASSINGLY large number - but that’s what happens when you find a restaurant you love and keep going back. The scallops in Sauternes butter and the guineafowl and chips @littlefrench_bristol - both dishes you’d be hard pushed to find as well cooked in France these days, sadly. Started this rather lovely @eeboopieceandlove Frida Kahlo one with my stepdaughter last week and finished it once she went home. Felt quite irrationally triumphant. I certainly didn’t and should have tried them but my eye was drawn by the gorgeous greengages on the left - one of my favourite summer fruits. Will eat the riper ones raw and make a compote with the rest but might go back and buy some more (from @regthe_veg) to make jam. I once made one in France, where they’re called reines-claudes, with a few drops of vanilla essence and a dash of dark rum and it was amazing.
