It seems extraordinarily indulgent to have a cooked breakfast on a Tuesday but why not when there are no tastings (or lunches) to go to and no trains to catch? Especially when you have a pack of @farmisonuk Ripon Cathedral collar bacon winking at you in the fridge (#paidfor in case you’re wondering!). Rescued a couple of rather sad tomatoes too to make it a bit ... um ...healthier. I discovered Farmison through @sabrinaghayour and ordered a selection of cuts from them including some Swaledale mutton I’ m thinking of turning into a tagine later today. (Loving the idea that you get a choice of breeds). Balm for the soul after a stressful 24 hours without my IPhone which chose the beginning of a lockdown weekend to die on me. Fortunately kind neighbour @rosie_somerset_lettering lent me her spare while her partner @tbarnes miraculously managed to resuscitate mine. What would we do without neighbours, eh? And what a joy schnitzel is - like anything fried, really. I used pork instead of veal (from @rarebutchers) then made one of my favourite potato salads which involves hot vinegar, onion and butter with some lightly pickled cucumber on the side.
