Some terrific Brazilian food at lunchtime @manimanioca today. Fish wrapped in banana leaf with a bean salad and delicious small sweet chillies, farofa and plantain purée, another great salad (Gorgonzola, apple and candied walnuts) and lascas de polvilho which are super delicious giant puffed up crackers made with manioc flour. Perfect salad with cheese, pancetta, figs and walnuts - great with their lightly wooded alvarinho followed by the most amazing dish of pork, linguiça toscana, beans and shredded greens with their touriga nacional. AND a dish of beef and rice to go with their top wine GOAT which stands - tongue in cheek - for Greatest of All Time. The two young winemakers who own it started making wine in a basement and are still only 26 and 27. The chef @luandamiano, like most of the people they work with, is a mate. This is the rather gorgeous @grupomiolo wine garden and the view from the top of the tower. There are luxurious little pods dotted around the grass where you can recline like a Roman emperor (or empress) and drink sparkling wine.
