Back to New Zealand for a mo - two dishes that to me represent the typical vibrancy and colour of Kiwi food: cold smoked salmon with golden beets and nectarine @the_hunting_lodge and duck with carrot, sweet potato and quinoa @tantalusestate on Waiheke island. (The salmon went with an Albariño and the duck with a peppery syrah.) A feast, obviously. A small snapshot of what we ate including an absolutely wonderful aubergine and tahini dish from @ottolenghi (for which he actually apologised because it was aubergines. IMAGINE!), a lovely crunchy red cabbage and nashi pear (I think) salad from - dunno - @we_are_food? - and these insanely good pistachio eclairs from @drraybakes. Also FAB barbecoa pork tacos from @thomasinamiers, clever vegan Caesar salad and some sort of wickedly chocolatey cake from @cheftomhunt, rum baba from @felicitycloake and a mega catch-up with @rachelaliceroddy.
