I was lucky enough to dine in a Cambridge college, Peterhouse, last week and even more fortunate to drink a 1982 Chateau Talbot.

Never the best idea to head for a bar after a massive supermarket wine tasting but if the bar is your son’s @hawksmoorrestaurants and your companion your successor at your last job (@hannahcrosb) why resist?

May account for the fact that my Ultimate Old-fashioned is a tad blurry though Hannah’s champagne cocktail is perfectly in focus, note. Good to catch up with @aleeshahansel too.

I even managed to catch my train 🙌

@ellypear @essexeating, @ppopss and I had afternoon tea yesterday rather than going out (cos still 5 days to payday) and as you can see it was an absolute feast.

Elly was road-testing a Mother’s Day cake with a lemon, mascarpone and white chocolate frosting (see her recent reel) and Dan made a pitch perfect leek tart.

The less said about my scones the better. Followed a new recipe which turned out more like a cobbler. At least I provided some very drinkable pet nat. (💯 yes to wine at tea time!)

All in all a great afternoon with the added bonus of #cake for breakfast

Winner winner chicken dinner @bistro_vin_perdu in Ashburton. Yes, those are chicken fat potatoes …shared with @susyatkins I hasten to say. (The chicken was too!)
