My first Match of the Week of the New Year is a classic but none the worse for that: an award-winning South African Bordeaux blend with a slow roast leg of lamb flavoured with garlic and rosemary.

Lovely to be back @caperandcure last night for the launch of their new menu which included this beautiful plate of Cornish seabream carpaccio with oyster mayo and blood orange, scallop with apple, crispy pork skin and asparagus and a lovely wobbly pannacotta with the first of the new season’s strawberries. Oh and some perfect little brioche rolls with herb butter. (Love a brioche roll!)
