Lovely old-fashioned supper of @meatpeter’s dry-cured sugar-pit bacon chop with broad beans in parsley sauce. I ❤️broad beans. Very simple although you have to salt the courgettes to get the liquid out of them. I also added a bit of mint and sprinkled them with feta. Need to think of something else to do with the rest now. Any thoughts? (I don’t like courgette cake!) This is what food looks like in most family homes.’ A quick Tuesday night supper of penne and a spicy sausage sauce made from @meatpeter’s wickedly good Italian-style chilli and fennel sausages, a leftover leek, half a green pepper, @mevalco’s brilliant tomate frito (basically Spain’s answer to passata) and a good handful of chopped parsley. Really tasty, 20 minutes cooking, 2 portions of sauce left for the freezer. (Hollow laughter from some of you but it happens even in this cheeseloving household.) The French call it fromage fort and it’s basically blitzed up cheese slices (swipe for picture) with garlic, white wine and cayenne pepper or chilli powder.
