Nothing makes me happier than the new season’s spring produce but if you feel it’s a bit early for it weather-wise try this clever recipe from @robjhowell’s gorgeous new book Root. It’s a warm dish of Jersey potatoes with peas, wild garlic and crème fraîche and I can’t think of anything I’d rather eat at the moment. My selection of 25 is in today’s @guardiang2 with top marks to South African winemaker @aabadenhorst for his ‘Curator’ range which I’d happily take on a picnic. Some of the others not so much though it has to be said I’m not the target audience for wines labelled Babe, Hun and Kiss. A tip: even the dullest cans are improved by drinking them really cold and straight from the tin.
