Despite many attempts to introduce beer lists in Michelin-starred restaurants, customers still don’t seem to want to drink it on a special occasion. Are they misguided or are restaurateurs wimping out?

My Christmas cookbook gift guide is out, written as usual from the perspective of which book will suit which family member not which books are the best of the year. Though there are many of my own favourites there. A LOT of plant-based books this year which I always find a bit of a mystery given only around 11% of the population is veggie and a smaller percentage still vegan.
