I came across so many great wine pairings in Toronto last week it's hard to pick out one but this dish just shaves it as my match of the week.

Thanks @marinagpoloughlin for the tip-off that the wonderful @tomnd.c.a.l.e (ex Great Queen Street) is back on the food scene masterminding the menu @cafemission.e1. It’s a largely plant-based menu including this addictive Mysore style set dosa with pumpkin sabji and coconut chutney with the occasional fish and meat dish thrown in like this @chalk_stream trout and prawn cocktail . Fresh, healthy, well-priced food served in a lovely light airy room - or the terrace outside if it’s fine which let’s face it it rarely is at the mo. (Although it’s supposed to be warming up next week) Welcome back Tom!

Normally I always order the pasta @sonnystores but the fennel, potato and taleggio bake sounded too good to resist and was just 💥. As was the perfect pumpkin and cuttlefish fritto. Part of the ridiculously well priced £25 set lunch with delicious accompanying AF cordial from @pasettiandboote. One of my favourite places in Bristol.

Etna looking pretty gloomy and stormy but fortunately not in the process of erupting. Plus already nearly ripe nerello mascalese grapes in one of @donnafugatawine’s Etna vineyards. Normally they wouldn’t be harvested till the second half of October.

On the amazing island of Pantelleria with @donnafugatawine. These old zibibbo (great name for a grape variety) vines produce the grapes that go to make their famous sweet wine Ben Ryé.
