Sponsored: Win a case of glorious Gosset champagne and six champagne glasses

We know you LOVE champagne (who doesn’t?) so one of you is going to be very happy indeed to win this month’s prize, a case of Gosset champagne and six champagne glasses.

Gosset is the oldest wine house in champagne dating back to 1584 before bubbles in champagne were even thought of. I’ve been a huge fan since I visited its cellars some 25 years ago and am thrilled that they’ve come up with this amazing prize

The case of six includes two bottles each of the following

2 x Gosset Grande Réserve Brut - the signature cuvée of the house and the perfect expression of the Champagne Gosset style. The wine has subtle structure and elegance from at least 3 years ageing on lees in Gosset’s cellars in Epernay and Ay. An equal blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir with a little addition of Meunier, the chardonnay gives a delicacy underscored by aromas of peach and yellow plum. The Pinot Noir add structure which supports the wine in its long ageing. The result is a champagne of immense versatility, working equally well on its own as alongside tapas, seafood and cheese like Comte.

2 x Gosset Grand Rosé Brut - a rosé with a high proportion of Chardonnay to create a champagne that is equally at ease as an aperitif or with a meal. The Chardonnay gives freshness and precision and the addition of a little red wine from Bouzy and Ambonnay contribute fine fruit notes. The richness and sweetness of the wine make it an excellent match for wild salmon, fish and seafood tapas, grilled veal, and poultry

2 x Gosset Grand’ Blanc de Blancs Brut - This cuvée encompasses the finesse of the Côte des Blancs and the structure of the Montagne de Reims. Grand Blanc de Blancs is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes grown in fifteen villages of the Côte des Blancs and the Côte des Noirs. Each of these villages and terroirs bring their own character, complexities and aromas to the wine, culminating in this exceptional cuvée.

They are also including six beautiful glasses which you will notice are not the flute shape you may be used to but the wider tulip shape which allows the full flavour of the champagne to express itself.

The closing date for the competition is 11.59pm GMT on Tuesday November 30th 2021 and you must live in the UK and be over 18 to enter.

Win a case of Nicolas Feuillatte rosé champagne

Win a case of Nicolas Feuillatte rosé champagne

THIS COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED.

It may or may not have escaped your notice that it’s Valentine’s Day this week and to celebrate we’ve got a six bottle case of gorgeous Nicolas Feuillatte brut rosé to give away.

It’s a blend of pinot noir, pinot meunier and chardonnay and aged for three years which gives it a delicate wild strawberry flavour and a stream of fine, elegant bubbles.

It won’t of course reach our lucky winner by V Day but if you’re inspired you can buy your loved one (and yourself) a bottle (in Asda, John Lewis or Majestic). And, if you win, enjoy champagne on other romantic occasions for the rest of the year. (Who says you can only have a romantic night in on February 14th, eh? Or February 29th for that matter. It’s Leap Year, this year, remember?)

They recommend it with salmon and avocado blinis and strawberry soufflé tart should you be looking for inspiration! (I’d also fancy it with some macarons - as pictured - or white chocolate with little crunchy bits of freeze dried raspberry.

The closing date for the competition is 11.59pm GMT on Monday March 2nd 2020 and you must live in the UK and be over 18 to enter. For other terms and conditions see below.

Win a case of fabulous Billecart-Salmon Sous Bois champagne

Win a case of fabulous Billecart-Salmon Sous Bois champagne

We know you love a champagne competition but this is really something exceptional: a case of one of my own favourites, family-owned champagne house Billecart Salmon’s Sous Bois Brut.

It’s a highly unusual champagne in that although it consists of the classic champagne grape varieties - Premier and Grand Cru Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs Premier and Grand Cru Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims, Aÿ and Mareuil-sur-Aÿ and Pinot Meunier from the right bank of the Vallée de la Marne - it’s entirely vinified in oak. To add complexity 30% to 35% of the blend is made from older reserve wines and it’s aged on its lees for 6 to 7 years.

It truly is a special occasion wine to drink with something delicious like roast chicken, grilled lobster or a wild mushroom risotto. At £60-70 a bottle the value of the six bottle case would be over £400 in most wine shops.

To be in with a chance of winning this amazing prize you must submit your entry by is 11.59pm GMT on Sunday December 1st 2019. You must live in the UK and be over 18 to enter. For other terms and conditions see below.

Win a case of Louis Roederer champagne and a zzysh® Champagne Preserver

Win a case of Louis Roederer champagne and a zzysh® Champagne Preserver

We’ve saved one of the best prizes we’ve had this year till last - a six bottle case of one of my favourite champagnes Louis Roederer from The Finest Bubble PLUS a zzysh® Champagne Preserver, a unique preservation system from Switzerland worth a total of £280. Do we spoil you or what? THIS COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED.

First of all let me tell you about The Finest Bubble which rather nicely describes itself as 'London’s Emergency Champagne service'. It was founded by Nick Baker in September 2014 with the idea of testing the concept of same day delivery of champagne in London. From the initial range of twelve champagnes they now have a choice of over 400 grandes marques and specialist grower champagnes from 75cl bottles to a giant Nebuchadnezzar (the equivalent of 20 bottles). Louis Roederer Premier Brut is just one of the big names it supplies, all available for delivery within 2 hours in London (and the following day outside London)

Zzysh champagne preserver

And however unlikely you think it is that you won’t finish the bottle you’re drinking it’s great to be able to save some until the following day - or even longer in the case of zzysh®’s Wine and Champagne Preservers

According to zzysh® they use a unique Swiss patented technology in their Champagne Preserver which retains the natural aroma and flavour of sparkling wines after opening by sealing and replacing the air inside the bottle with a mixture of Argon and CO2, to guard the liquid from oxidation and loss of flavour and fizz. The Champagne Starter Set consists of one handpiece, one stopper and one cartridge which can be used for up to four applications. "Compact, portable and cost-effective at a recommended retail price of £79.90, the zzysh® Champagne Preserver works with a wide variety of sparkling wine bottles."

The closing date for the competition is 11.59pm GMT on Tuesday January 1st 2019 and you must live in the UK and be over 18 to enter. For other terms and conditions see below.

Win a case of H. Blin grower champagne

Win a case of H. Blin grower champagne

THIS COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED BUT DON'T WORRY - THERE WILL BE ANOTHER GREAT PRIZE SOON!

In what has become a bit of a tradition on matchingfoodandwine.com we have a case of champagne as our prize this month as our way of celebrating Valentine's Day. And we’re particularly pleased to have the small family owned champagne house of H. Blin as our sponsor this year

The founder Henri Blin was descended from a long line of family growers from Vincelles, a charming village located on the champagne route in the Marne valley. Today Champagne H.Blin owns 123 hectares of vineyards which are mainly planted with Pinot Meunier and focusses on the unique characteristics of this variety to produce authentic, terroir-driven champagnes. Blin’s vineyards are now all managed using sustainable methods and several hectares are certified organic.

The case of six bottles will include 3 bottles each of their brut champagne (described by Oddbins, which stocks it, as a "mellow, rounded, sumptuous, biscuity, balanced, lemony and complex style of champagne" and the richer still Blanc de Noirs which, like a number of their champagnes, is made 100% from Pinot Meunier.

All you have to do to enter the competition is register on the site (and subscribe, if you like, to our free monthly newsletter)

Given the nature of the prize, you must be 18 or over to enter and we can’t dispatch prizes to those of you who live outside the UK, I’m afraid.

The closing date for the competition is 11.59pm GMT on Sunday March 4th 2018 which means you won’t of course get it in time for V Day if you win but hopefully February 14th is not the only day on which you'll feel moved to make a romantic gesture. And there’s nothing stopping you buying a bottle while you wait to find out if you’re the lucky winner. (For prices and stockist details see below*)
