At last I have a search mechanism that will help you find a wine match for a specific dish or ingredient. Or a specific wine or style of wine. Inevitably there are still a few glitches, the most annoying of which, as you’ll have discovered if you’ve tried it is that when you use the pull-down menu the screen jumps back to the top of the page and you have to scroll down again. (It didn’t do that in the development stage so the developers are having to fix it now it’s live for which I apologise. Hopefully it will be fixed in the next couple of days)

It’s also perfectly possible you may not be able to find the dish or drink you're looking for yet, particularly if it’s a beer or a cider. It's still a work in progress. If you don’t find a match try entering the dish or drink in the search box on the left or write to me requesting a pairing at fionaATmatchingfoodandwineDOTcom (Obviously you don't have to spell out the words in full - this is just a way of trying to avoid the avalanche of spam that greets every listing of a live email address!) Annual subscribers should also be able to find most ingredients, dishes and cuisines in the ebook you can download on joining the site.

I have deliberately limited the number of pairings with each dish to the ones that I think work best rather than include every possibility on the basis that you will probably be in a rush when you're looking for a suggestion so it’s more helpful to have two or three than twenty or thirty.

If you'd like more detailed advice on the meals you're planning or specific bottle recommendations you can sign up for a subscription at the still very modest price of £24.99 (approximately 29.40€/$41) a year (or £8.99 (€10.50/$14.80 a quarter) which will also give you access to my top wine-pairing tips and techniques.
